The Team & Role
Gem is looking for a Senior Accountant to manage financial systems and own all financial reporting and full-cycle accounting operations. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager, Controller, VP of Finance & Head of Operations. This role is an incredible growth opportunity for aspiring Controllers.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
- Oversee and process day-to-day accounting activities, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, T&E, cash management and general ledger maintenance.
- Monthly and quarterly close process to ensure accurate results are delivered and reported timely in accordance to GAAP.
- Posting daily cash activity, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and fluxes.
- Semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Revenue recognition and lease & sublease accounting.
- Preparing financial statements for investor relations and internal decision-making.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to help drive key initiatives & process improvements.
- Quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Assist with investor reporting, internal and external audits, and tax filings.
- Other special ad-hoc projects as assigned.
About You
- Must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting (CPA or CPA Eligible, MBA a plus).
- 1-3 years of Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
- 1-2 years of startup accounting experience a plus.
- NetSuite experience a must.
