McGraw-Hill Education, the leading provider of digital and print educational materials, is looking for a Senior Academic Designer for our Math programs (6-8). It is an exciting time for Math at MHE! We are looking for passionate people to join our team as we eagerly plan and develop our next generation of program.
Your impact on the team
Senior Academic Designers are content and curriculum experts. They assemble high-quality content based on specific product requirements for programs and understand the solution design. They collaborate with the Academic Design Director and Academic Design Managers to help develop the solution design (both conceptualization and implementation).
It will be filled as a Project Status Worker (PSW) designation. The project duration will be until Sept. 2027. This is a remote position with potentially 10% of travel and open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
Your contribution to the team includes:
Plan and develop culturally responsive, relevant, and sustaining content (including learning objectives, content, activities, and instructional supports) for teacher and student materials-including print, digital, and media projects.
Demonstrate strong understanding of elementary (6-8) pedagogy and mathematics content.
Produce accurate, error-free, high-quality products that meet curriculum standards and market requirements and display appropriate content, reading level, grammar, and style.
Conduct quality assurance testing of digital assets within a variety of authoring tools, digital platforms, and applications.
Communicate with fellow team members about project progress and develop solutions to address issues.
Correlate educational materials to national and state math standards and frameworks. Work closely with Academic Designer Managers and Director to assemble high-quality digital and print content based on specific product requirements for programs and understand the solution design.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, mathematics, or other relevant focus.
4-6 years of middle school product development experience; mathematics education, or writing
5 or more years of middle school classroom experience.
Detail-oriented and able to edit a variety of materials both digital and print in a timely manner
Communicate with fellow team members about project progress and develop solutions to address issues
Work closely with marketing, production, design, and manufacturing to ensure that market requirements, project schedules, and goals are met
Create, visualize, and lay out content for various delivery formats and classroom settings
Knowledge and skills to create a robust print and digital learning experience aligned to standards and market requirements and expectations.
Be productive, exercise efficient work habits and can prioritize, multitask, and exhibit flexibility. Must be able to work in a team environment. Experience writing and editing instructional materials for use in elementary math classrooms strongly preferred. Experience working with digital curriculum development, digital authoring tools, and content management systems preferred.

The pay range for this position is between $62,000 - $80,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
