Through our intelligent skills platform and a global community of instructors, we’ve helped over 70 million learners and 16,000 organizations achieve their goals. Come join us in ensuring everyone, everywhere has access to the skills they need to unlock their potential and create possibilities for themselves and others.

This hybrid position requires two days per week in our XXX office.

About you

You’re a connector who puts people first and values the lasting partnerships you’ll build. You’re an active listener who cares about the stories people share and are energized by communication and collaboration. You love learning new things and are known for bringing innovative perspectives and questions to the table. You’re deadline and results-driven, passionate about creating new processes, systems, and best practices that help your internal partners do their best work.

About this role

We are seeking a Director, People Partners for our global Udemy Business (UB) teams, including Sales, GCO, SO & UBLA. This position requires a seasoned HR professional with a strong understanding of sales dynamics, organizational development, and talent management. This individual will work closely with our President, Udemy Business on strategic people and organizational decisions, employee engagement and development, compensation, and performance management and inclusion and belonging initiatives. You’ll lead a global People Partner sales team of two People Partners to drive global people strategies across the UB Sales, GCO, SO & UBLA organizations and report to VP of People Partners and BEDI.

You will collaborate closely with leaders to cultivate a high-performance culture, drive employee engagement, and support talent development initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the technology sector, combining strategic thinking with hands-on HR expertise.

What you'll be doing
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop proactive people strategies aligning with organizational goals.

  • Lead a cross-functional team of People team COE’s in a pod-model towards defining and executing a people strategy for the Sales teams, spotting opportunities and quickly moving towards solutions.

  • Coach and develop an amazing team of People Partners; supporting both individual growth and team effectiveness

  • Establish yourself as a trusted partner; building credibility and trust by providing a strong and visible People leadership presence with leaders, people managers and employees, locally and globally

  • Analyze and interpret various types of employee reports to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions

  • Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, foster a culture of belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion, increase retention, and satisfaction within the technology teams. Proactively address employee concerns and foster a positive workplace culture.

  • Support change initiatives within the technology teams, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth transitions and effective change management efforts.

Partner with PPL team centers of excellence on performance management programs & philosophies, training & development needs and solutions, total rewards management and recruitment efforts.

About your Skills

  • Consulting: You see beyond the presenting problem and identify the fundamental ‘why’. You are a strong systems thinker and co-design potential solutions with the leader.
  • Influencing: You develop relationships effectively up, down, and across the organization and are able to strategically use these relationships to help move your work forward. You scope  a solution that will  “get to yes” and also are capable of pushing back on disagreement if they will not provide the outcome needed for the team or the business.
  • Decision Making: You use critical thinking to follow a defined decision making process and consider multiple perspectives. Upon making a decision, you are clear in your communication and ensure everyone is aligned in execution.
  • Coaching: You have strong coaching skills that allow you to actively listen and ask the kind of questions that will help you diagnose and effectively address issues.

We're excited about you because you have:

  • 10+  years as an HR Business Partner at a mid-large size company partnering with executive-level leadership; and 5+ years experience leading HRBPs.

  • Previous experience partnering with Chief Revenue Officers who lead globally distributed teams; driving 450M+ in ARR.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing People/HR team.

Strong competence within the HR function including employee relations, coaching, compliance, communications, and change management.

We understand that not everyone will match each of the above qualifications. However, we also realize that everyone has unique experiences that can add value to our company. Even if you think your background might not perfectly align, we'd love to hear from you!

Life at Udemy

We aspire to be as vibrant and dynamic as the communities we serve, as inquisitive as those who use our platform, and as revolutionary as the future we strive to open for everyone. Here are some of the things we love about life at Udemy:

  • We’re invested in creating an inclusive environment that welcomes a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. From creating employee resource groups, ensuring we’re a Fair Pay Workplace, and building a flexible work culture, our belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion (BEDI) initiatives always put our people first. We want you to be able to bring your authentic self to work because when we all do, we’re better for it.

  • Learning is what we do – inside and out. Our Learning & Development team is second to none, helping ensure your journey is one of continuous progression. You’ll also have unlimited access to Udemy courses, monthly UDays (meeting-free professional development days), and a generous annual professional development stipend.

  • Our reason to exist is to revolutionize learning – that calls for taking risks and learning from failures. Whether it’s our hackathons (a company-wide effort to envision new possibilities for our product) or sharing our prototypes, we see experimentation as a crucial step on the path to success.

  • We’re committed to creating world-class employee experiences and are proud of the recognition of this by Great Place to Work.

Of course, the best thing about being part of Udemy is knowing your work makes a difference for people and organizations around the world. You’ve got the skills; why not use them to help others develop theirs?

At Udemy, we value diversity and inclusion and consider qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or family status, veteran status, medical condition, or disability. We will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
