Location: Remote (CST Time Zone)
Salary Range: Up to 2200 USD
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST

Job Description

Sagan is seeking a GIS Analyst to support our land services projects. The GIS Analyst will leverage advanced knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS Suite to analyze, organize, and manage GIS data relevant to title research and land management. This role requires the ability to interpret title documentsincluding oil and gas leases, deeds, easements, and rights-of-wayto determine property impact and establish accurate leasehold boundaries. The GIS Analyst will also assess the validity of leases by comparing current and historical maps, survey data, and production records to determine HBP (Held By Production) status.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement GIS solutions under the guidance of the Senior GIS Analyst, building maps and integrating survey data with tax parcel records.
  • Manage and maintain PLMs GIS databases, including sensitive client and organizational data.
  • Support Landmen and Project Land Managers in preparing and presenting title research and lease acquisition data.
  • Review legal property descriptions and other title documents to accurately define property boundaries.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the ArcGIS Online Platform and related GIS applications.
  • Preferred experience with SQL, Python, or Java for data manipulation and analysis.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of three years experience in GIS within an energy or land services context is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS Suite is essential.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and cloud computing.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with IT systems or experience with computer hardware/software maintenance is preferred.
