Bluesight is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Kit Check inventory management engineering team as we expand our engineering capacity. Our market-leading RFID-based solution reduces restocking and pharmacy errors and helps hospitals automate inventory control and save money by reducing waste and decreasing costs.
As the team’s software engineer, you will lead the design and execution of key firmware initiatives, and partner with our RFID engineer. You’ll work on exciting new projects including containerization, web apps, hardware, and scanning stations. Finally, you will design integrations with APIs and third-party systems.
You can expect to:Work with QA and the UX team to build a best-in-class, well-tested user experienceSpend 50% of your time on Linux-based custom firmware systems and testing and 50% on Rails backend developmentWork with a friendly and positive team to write and test the low-level code that makes Kit Check’s Scanners tick.Write code mostly in Java & Ruby, read code primarily written in JavaScript (NodeJS Express), Python, SQL, and C/C#. The vast majority of code you write will be for our scanners, embedded systems that connect them to networks and manage their firmware. Write programs used in the physical world to scan and manage medication inventory systems. Implement drivers for our RFID Scanners in our QA, Staging, and Production Environments. Drive our device security by extending the boot chain from the first instruction to the control plane running on RFID Readers.
