 What’s in Store

We are on the lookout for an experienced and professional Actuarial Consultant to join our team. As the Actuarial Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a broad range of actuarial services, with a primary focus on pricing, reserving, financial reporting, cash flow testing, and other actuarial modeling tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in actuarial consulting, excellent project management skills, and the ability to develop creative solutions for our clients. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Perform a wide range of actuarial tasks, including pricing, reserving, financial reporting, cash flow testing, and other actuarial modeling activities
  • Perform detailed actuarial analysis and develop creative solutions tailored to client needs
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models to assess the financial implications of life insurance and annuity products
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses and their unique needs
  • Manage client engagement projects, ensuring all deliverables are met and expectations are exceeded
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client projects, maintaining strong relationships and providing ongoing support
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Utilize actuarial software and tools to perform detailed analyses and develop accurate models
  • Work closely with project team members to ensure the technical accuracy and integrity of analyses, templates, and exhibits
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, underwriting, and product development, to achieve client objectives

This is a full-time, home-based role. 

Your Expertise, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field and/or possess a combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in life and annuity actuarial work, with significant progress in Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams or attainment of ASA credential
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with actuarial software such as Moody’s AXIS is highly preferred
  • Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Strong time management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and of the highest quality 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members professionally
  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate complex actuarial concepts to clients and team members
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
