What’s the role?
We are looking for a Staff Accountant, Consolidation & Reporting to join our team!
This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, Consolidations & Reporting. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What’s this team like at Etsy?
The Consolidations and Reporting team plays a key role in the preparation, analysis, and reporting of consolidated financial statements for our global operations.
We consistently collaborate within accounting and cross-functionally.
We drive process improvements and strive to enhance the finance function at Etsy.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Prepare monthly worldwide consolidation of Etsy financial statements, including validation of FX impact, preparing journal entries related to intercompany agreements, ensuring elimination of intercompany activity, and preparing reconciliations for intercompany and other accounting areas as needed
Manage global intercompany settlements to ensure timely settlement of balances and minimize FX exposure, working closely with treasury, tax, and international accounting teams
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with US GAAP and with internal policies and procedures
Assist with the preparation of monthly internal reporting package, collaborating across accounting and strategic finance teams
Support the SEC Reporting team by preparing the consolidated statement of cash flows, preparing Balance Sheet and Income Statement analytics, consolidating financial data for various disclosures, and completing other tasks as needed to support Form 10-Q and Form 10-K
Assist in planning, testing, and implementing various system changes, process improvements, and other ad hoc reporting projects as needed

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
Minimum of one year of accounting or audit experience (experience working in public accounting or at a publicly-traded company preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Basic accounting knowledge base with a strong interest in expanding your skill set
Collaborative spirit and drive for making process improvements
Ability to work independently, proactively identify challenges, and actively work to find solutions
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Hands-on approach and desire to work in a dynamic environment
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Workday knowledge is a plus
