Automation Engineer – Drive Innovation in IT Automation

Locations: Remote work for residents of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Utah, or Florida

Status: Full-Time, Employee

Relevant Work Experience: 4+ Years

Hours: 8am-5pm M-F

Salary: $60,000-$75,000, with a 20% annual bonus based on performance metrics

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Refine Automation Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to build our automation strategy, establishing a roadmap for sourcing, evaluating, and prioritizing new automation initiatives.
  • Design and Implement Workflows: Build and maintain automated workflows using tools like Rewst, N-Central, and ConnectWise Manage, while ensuring consistency through reusable and modular functions.
  • Process Identification and Requirements Gathering: Partner with stakeholders to identify manual, repetitive tasks, documenting detailed process requirements to inform automation development.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct comprehensive testing to identify and fix bugs, ensuring reliability and stability in automated workflows. Maintain adherence to quality standards, security, and data privacy regulations.
  • Maintenance and Monitoring: Continuously monitor and optimize existing workflows for peak performance and efficiency.
  • Documentation and Training: Create thorough documentation for automations and provide training/support for team members interacting with automation tools.
  • Keep Abreast of Trends: Stay informed about emerging automation technologies and best practices, applying newfound knowledge to improve existing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in MSP: Deep understanding of Managed Service Provider (MSP) processes and tools (e.g., PSA, RMM, documentation systems).
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with PowerShell, Jinja, APIs, and a solid grasp of automation principles. Experience with Python is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think creatively and strategically, breaking complex challenges into manageable parts.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to articulate both technical concepts and business benefits to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability: Enthusiasm for learning, refining processes, and adapting to new challenges.
