We’re looking for Software Development Managers to lead one of our growing engineering teams. In this role you will lead a group of 4-6 developers, and work closely with Design, Product and Data partners, to enable your team to ship excellent.
In this role, you will:Set a strategic vision with your product counterpart and use it to develop a roadmap for your team, working closely with stakeholders.Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ experiences to set and maintain a high bar.Be a hands-on leader with strong craft to provide clear direction to your team and produce high quality work at speed.Ensure Design, Product, and Engineering (and any other functions) work well together and are aligned on shared goals for planning and project work.Directly manage developers through identifying career and development opportunities.Establish a strong culture on your team and help to mature our engineering practices.Create clarity through shared rituals, strong communication and context.We’re looking for someone who brings:Experience managing software development teams.Proven track record of delivering well-designed and tested software.Experience working in a fast-moving, high-growth company and/or experience working in consumer fintech.Experience working in a collaborative environment with product management, design and data partners.Experience with our tools and technologies: Kotlin, Java, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL with Apollo, Kafka, Typescript, ReactJS (note: experience with all is a nice to have, not required!).Why Wealthsimple?
