Position Summary:   The Staff Auditor holds primary responsibility for engaging in audit projects to assess the adequacy of internal controls, both in their design and application. Furthermore, the Staff Auditor is tasked with conducting and/or assisting in corporate investigations, ad-hoc special projects, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements. This role necessitates the completion of projects covering Alight’s global operations.

                                                         

Key Responsibilities:     The primary duties and responsibilities of the Staff Auditor include:

  • Participating in audits evaluating the adequacy of controls for key business processes.  Included in this responsibility are: 
    • Executing  audit procedures,
    • Communicating audit findings noted from the review to the Senior Auditor/Internal Audit Lead, and
    • Assisting in the development of an audit approach and testing strategy for assigned audit projects to ensure all key business risks and controls are evaluated.
  • Making, or assisting in making oral and written presentations to management throughout and at the conclusion of the examination by discussing process and control deficiencies, recommending corrective actions and other suggestions for improvements in operations and/or reductions in costs.
  • Assisting in completion of risk assessments for new product or service introductions.
  • Providing assistance to external auditors during their interim and annual reviews of the company, as required.
  • As a global resource, participating in assignments as needed by the broader Assurance and Risk Management department.
Skills Required:   The key skills required for this position are:
  • Technical, analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively address and resolve issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to interact with all levels of management within the organization.
  • A foundational knowledge and understanding of internal auditing standards and techniques as well as general accounting methods, principles and practices.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • The ability to focus on details and perform all required functions timely and with accuracy.
  • Proficiency in the use of applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Visio and Word.   Auditboard knowledge is a plus, but not required.
  • The ability to learn and develop a competency/understanding of Alight’s operations.

Minimum

Work Experience:                     0-3 years of audit and/or accounting experience.

Professional Education:         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or comparable business degree. Professional designations/certifications, such as Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, etc, are preferred.
