The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Personal Safety Division US Military and Federal Agency Inside Sales Specialist, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) solutions to meet customer requirements for Personal Safety Division products sold to the US Federal Government. The role will focus on selling 3M Peltor, 3M Scott, and other 3M PSD PPE products.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Grow 3M Personal Safety Division Military and Federal Agency market business through virtual engagement with end user customers
  • Coordinate with outside sales Regional Military and Federal Government Sales Specialists to manage large opportunities and coordination of customer in person engagements
  • Responds to inbound customer inquiries to determine the customer’s applications and requirements to ensure appropriate PPE solutions are recommended
  • Demonstrates a proficient level of procedural and technical product knowledge to identify products that meet customer needs
  • Attain established engagement activity, sales quota, and sales productivity metrics
  • Maintain proficiency as a subject matter expert on 3M Peltor and 3M Scott portfolio products
  • Leverage strategic channel relationships and drive customer engagement plans for key customers within assigned territory.
  • Contribute to the achievement of forecast goals for 3M Peltor, 3M Scott, and 3M PSD products.
  • Manage and maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline using CRM tools

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Four (4) years of combined service in the US Military or with a Federal Agency in a private, public, governmental or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience with military radios/communication technology and/or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) respiratory equipment
  • Experience selling to DoD and/or Federal Government Agencies.  
  • Understanding of military structure and ranks for all military branches
  • Experience in procurement process within DoD and/or U.S. Federal Agencies
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment to effectively work through and manage change/ambiguity, with an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Inside sales and field sales experience highly desirable
  • Experience selling through distribution channels
  • Dedication to independent ongoing learning required to maintain product knowledge and application within the market space

Work location: Remote – US

Travel: May include up to 10% Domestic

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
