Summary

The Data Analyst is responsible for extracting, validating, and cleaning data using Excel-based templates and APIs, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. This role involves filtering and summarizing market data to generate insights, creating and maintaining PowerBI dashboards with basic DAX functions for data visualization, and applying relational database principles to structure data. The analyst will perform manual data extraction, transformation, and loading, use web scraping to gather additional data, and document processes to maintain consistency. Collaboration with the team to improve workflows is essential, alongside identifying efficiencies in existing processes.

The position may be remote or hybrid, based on location. This is a full time role. Regular business hours vary based on business needs, but generally are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Managing life and work responsibilities is unique for everyone. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Utilize Excel-based templates to interact with various APIs to retrieve data. 
  • Validate and clean the data obtained from APIs, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 
  • Filter and summarize market data to generate meaningful insights and reports. 
  • Develop and maintain simple PowerBI dashboards, incorporating basic DAX functions for data visualization. 
  • Understand and apply relational database modeling principles to organize and structure data effectively. 
  • Perform web scraping to collect additional data as needed. 
  • Collaborate with the team to improve data collection and processing workflows. 
  • Document processes and methodologies to ensure reproducibility and consistency in data handling. 
  • Manual data extraction, transformation, and loading to databases 
  • Identify efficiency recommendations within technology and/or processes 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using Excel for data manipulation and interaction with APIs. 
  • Basic understanding of PowerBI and DAX for building and maintaining dashboards. 
  • Knowledge of relational database modeling and the ability to design and manage database structures. 
  • Familiarity with web scraping techniques and tools. 
  • Familiarity with python pandas library for data manipulation. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to document processes and collaborate with team members. 
  • Innovation oriented mindset—actively identifying improvements
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to work full time, generally from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Preferred 

  • Relevant Work Experience and/or Education:
    • Relevant work experience may include, but not limited to: data analyst, research analyst, financial analyst, operations analyst, business systems analyst, business intelligence analyst, data scientist, data engineer, database administrator, or a related field in data, technology, or business
    • Degree, or concentration may include, but not limited to: data science, statistics, computer science, information systems, mathematics, economics, business analytics, finance, operations research, real estate, or a related field in data, technology, or business
  • Prior experience in appraisal related businesses
  • Interest in advancing the appraisal industry through culture, technology, and innovation

  • Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Regular use of computer and related technology.
  • Infrequent lifting of lightweight items (up to 10 lbs)
  • Ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods.
  • Visual acuity for data entry and analysis.
  • Occasional mobility, as needed, to move around office for meetings or collaboration
  • Communication with colleagues, vendors, and market participants via telephone, email, online correspondence, messengers, and video conferencing.
  • Frequently utilize the Microsoft Suite of applications (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
