Job Description:

Summer Intern - Predictive Modeling – Commercial & Executive (Morristown or Remote)

 

The Commercial & Executive Division is looking for a Summer 2025 intern to join the predictive modeling team over the winter break.  The intern will work on one or more projects related to extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data used for models and improving interconnectivity between different web applications, application programming interfaces (APIs) and underlying data architectures in support of models’ everyday use.  The intern will also have the opportunity to interact with a variety of the model stakeholders to better understand the business imperatives.

 

What you will do

  • Complete one or more projects related to ETL and/or web development.
  • Improve accessibility and interconnectivity between different data sources, models, and systems.
  • Partner with tenured actuaries and data scientists to learn more about use of models in P&C.

What you will bring to C&F

  • Relevant coursework in actuarial science or data science
  • R or Python (especially tidyverse, shiny, plumber, statmod, xgboost)
  • One or more actuarial examinations preferred
  • Ability to manage time and work independently
