Who we are looking for
We are seeking an individual with 10+ years of experience as software developer with at least 3+ years in the financial services industry to join the Exchange Traded Funds Global Platform development team. The ETF Global Platform (ETFGP) is a State Street proprietary system which delivers software solutions for the State Street ETF Product. As a senior level developer within the ETFGP development team, you will work with the team in providing solutions that integrate with the existing application and provide benefit to the business as well as well move the application into modern cloud and micro based service architectures with a focus on efficiency, performance, scalability and resiliency. This role requires collaboration amongst team members and stakeholders in Boston, EMEA, India and China. The candidate must possess an inherent understanding of technologies, relationships between technology, data, operations, and business areas.
This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.
What you will be responsible for
As Software Engineering & Development AVP, you will
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and the application team leads to define technical solutions to meet business requirements
- Problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve advanced software technical issues
- Identify risk areas and provide alternate strategies to address concerns
- Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java, SQL, React, or other related software engineering languages, while keeping abreast of emerging public cloud technologies
- Provide application support, triage production issues by reviewing code and logs as needed to provide tactical and/or strategic technical solutions
- Write unit and automation test cases to ensure a high quality end product
- Provide mentoring to junior and senior staff
- Participate in code reviews
- Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the kanban methodology including attending all daily standups, release planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in JAVA, Oracle PL SQL, Javascript, CSS
- 3+ years of experience in institutional investments with Exchange Traded Funds experience preferred
- Experienced in Spring, MyBatis, ReactJS, GIT, Artifactory, Quartz, Autosys
- Self-motivated , self-organized and curious about new technology and able to work within a large organization
- Ability to work well with peers in a global, collaborative team environment
- Ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector
- Experience with Exchange Traded Funds preferred
- Experience working with an Agile development methodology is desired

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $142,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
