The Senior Security IT Architect is responsible for providing security architecture and technical leadership to the enterprise. Working closely with the IT leadership team and business stakeholders the Senior Security IT Architect will design and develop strategic IT roadmaps, provide technical oversight in managing third party vendors to adhere to previously developed and approved security architectural solutions, drives innovation, develops, and reviews domain level security architecture. The position is responsible for IT security innovation and promotion of new technologies and ensures enterprise architectural security standards and best practices are followed. The Senior Security IT Architect reports to the head of Enterprise IT Architecture with a dotted line of reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer.
- Designs security solutions by applying enterprise standards, frameworks and reference architectures.
- Plays key role in evaluation and selection of technology for solving security technical needs.
- Communicates complex security topics regarding solution that will meet business stakeholders project needs.
- Adheres and applies best practices, processes and standards set by the Enterprise Architecture group.
- Works with other IT Architects, Solution Engineers, and Managed Service Provider (“MSP”) teams to analyze and document non-functional requirements and ensures implementation and technology solutions are implemented adhering to proposed security solution architecture as expected and to agreed timeframes.
- Identifies system, infrastructure and project interdependencies and balance competing demands to ensure security architecture deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures the strategic alignment of IT security architecture (functional, application, data, and integration architecture) to meet business outcomes.
- Advises on and validates security architecture deliverables to suit target audience.
- Works with stakeholders to gain alignment and set a common security technical direction for achieving business outcomes.
- Drives a fit for purpose security solution architecture aligned with enterprise architecture principles, policies and design.
- Prepares and presents project documentation for the architecture review board.
- Evaluates design approaches, makes architectural recommendations, and implements improvements to testing strategies.
Bachelor’s Degree with typically more than 10 - 12 years of related experience. Normally holds an advanced degree in area of specialization.
