Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Independent Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join our dynamic team, working remotely from within the EU. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to engage in groundbreaking projects that drive our growth in the fintech sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performing, scalable, and reliable backend systems for our applications.
• Enhance site architecture and continuously refine feature components, development processes, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools.
• Convert product requirements and technical designs into robust, low-defect code.
• Research emerging technologies and methodologies to enrich our architecture and user experience.
• Collaborate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback while sharing expertise with peers.
• Partner closely with product, sales, customer support, and other departments to execute growth initiatives.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
• Assist in managing complex releases and code management to ensure seamless transitions.
• Conduct software analysis, testing, programming, and debugging to uphold high code quality.
• Implement best practices using static code analysis tools to maintain industry standards.
• Mentor and support team members to tackle technical challenges effectively.
• Collaborate efficiently with offshore teams, guiding product development efforts.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles and their practical applications.
• Experience with backend services or distributed systems, with a solid understanding of the interaction between backend code and the database layer.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Exposure to containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in working with APIs, including REST and GraphQL.
• Understanding of client-side JavaScript frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent collaboration skills across multiple teams, both onshore and offshore, with a hands-on execution approach.
  
  

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in designing and implementing Java applications through various development phases.
