Job description

Your mission

As Fundraising Manager, you will support the Chief Strategy and Partnerships Officer in developing the strategic fundraising narrative of the Institute and related internal & external engagement with the Institute’s stakeholders network, including partners and donors, on top of contributing to the effective management and smooth functioning of the team within the Institute. 

Your Responsibilities

Under the leadership of the Chief Strategy and Partnerships Officer, the Fundraising Manager will:

Fundraising

  • Manage relationships with current and potential donors, ensuring regular communication and reporting

  • Present the organization’s mission to transform complex issues into relatable human stories

  • Research and track funding sources to support fundraising strategy

  • Draft and submit grant applications and proposals

  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed

  • Maintain donor records and support the internal donor management system

  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies and best practices to inform project strategies and decisions

Communication and Reporting

  • Assist in implementing fundraising communication and marketing strategies 

  • Create high quality promotional materials and engaging content across various platforms

  • Produce high-quality written reports, project documentation, and presentations tailored to different audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders

Project management

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress against these metrics

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including consortium partners, to align project goals and deliverables

Additional Information 

  • Starting date: as soon as possible

  • Duration: indefinite

  • Working rate: full-time at 32 hours per week (Mondays to Thursdays)

  • Location: Geneva or The Hague, or full-remote (CET timezone)

  • Occasional travel (less than 20%) may be required to attend meetings, conferences, or site visits

Your profile

Your Experience, Skills and Attribute

  • Previous experience (min. 3 years) in fundraising/business development (preferably in a nonprofit organization)

  • Studies relevant to fundraising responsibilities, like in business management/development, economics, marketing, communications, international relations

  • Knowledge of budgeting, reporting, and experience with donor databases is a plus

  • Fluency in English, spoken and written. Knowledge of French is an asset.

  • Knowledge in the cybersecurity and emerging technology field is an asset

  • Demonstrated commitment to work in NGOs - nonprofit sector

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with storytelling creativity

  • Proficient in MS Office and design/marketing tools (e.g. Canva)

  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills for diverse collaboration

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, maintaining a solutions-oriented approach

  • Ability to coordinate with departments, organize and prioritize workload and adhere to deadline
