Position Overview

Our Vancouver, BC location is interested in hearing from Houdini Lighting Artist for future openings. 

We are accepting applications for a Houdini Lighting Artist with strong shot finishing skills for a variety of episodic streaming projects across different services. 

The ideal candidate will have a Generalist background with strong Houdini lighting skills. They will be responsible for creating photo realistic and stylized lighting set ups for dynamics, sets, props and creatures. Good communication skills and collaborative traits are mandatory.

Responsibilities 

• Houdini and Mantra skills required (Maya/Vray experience a plus)
• Help create and/or modify lighting templates as required
• Troubleshoot technical production issues as required
• Ability to handle complex scene layout, shading and lighting to rendering final elements
• Communicate creative and technical issues effectively
• Strong understanding of lighting principles and color theory
• Responsible for rendering all necessary elements for compositing team

Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience in a production environment
• Should effectively execute all necessary assigned tasks while under tight production deadlines
• Strong creative and technical abilities
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude
• Experience lighting crowds a plus
• Experience with Houdini a MUST
• Experience rendering with Mantra

Would be nice:

• Experience in Vray (for Houdini)
• Experience in Nuke.
• Knowledge of Shotgun/grid

Zoic is a Houdini/Mantra/Vray/Nuke studio.

Additional information

•    British Columbia Senior Employees Pay Range: $50 - $65   (The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position)
•    Candidates MUST be located in British Columbia. At the moment this is a remote 'work from home' position with the option of working within our studio. (Some US Candidates may be considered). 
•    Zoic does not cover relocation costs.
•    All remote positions require the candidate to have a reliable internet connection via ethernet and work on Pacific Standard Time.
