Staff Accountant is a detail‐oriented and analytical professional with a solid foundation in accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for accuracy. The Staff Accountant has a crucial role in maintaining the general ledger, reparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Staff Accountant will primarily work with accounts ranging from simple to moderately complex.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date financial records using accounting software. Record day‐to‐day financial transactions, including accounts payable, Accounts receivable, and other general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Monitor and maintain proper documentation for all general ledger entries to ensure audit readiness.Financial Reporting and Analysis: Record general ledger entries and prepare account reconciliations as part of the period end close process. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, prepaids and fixed assets, to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions as part of the financial close. Prepare and maintain schedules for various balance sheet and income statement accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.Compliance and Audit Management: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits and provide necessary support during audit processes.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the accounting function. Implement and maintain effective internal controls.Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Intermediate to advanced skill level using Microsoft Excel.Excellent critical thinking and problem‐solving skills, and superior attention to detailMust demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.Experience with account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.Professional demeanor and presentation when interacting with both internal and external customers.Ability to coordinate work with geographically dispersed team – Zoom/ Slack/ Email connectivity & presence balanced with the ability to get things done.Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting required Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 annually
