The Center for Justice and Health (Center) at Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute seeks a well-qualified individual to serve as Project Manager to support the work of the justice and health portfolio. The Project Manager will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of projects while remaining aligned with the mission and strategy of the organization. This position is ideal for those interested in the legal system, research, health policy, government performance, and criminal justice reform. 


The preferred work location for this position is in Texas. This position may not be filled or performed in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Rhode Island, or Washington at this time. This is a full-time position. While primarily a remote position, travel (up to 15%) may be required. Some duties may require access to reliable personal transportation. 


Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Center for Justice and Health team to provide support for projects by coordinating and facilitating meetings (including the ability to take detailed notes that include follow-up responsibilities), tracking project deliverables, and contributing to relevant work content which may include conducting research and drafting reports, project updates, and content for presentations; 
  • Coordinate efforts within the Center team and with external groups;
  • Provide verbal and written project updates to the Center leadership and key stakeholders; 
  • Assist members of the Center team and collaborative partners with meeting scheduling, preparation, and follow up activities;
  • Related tasks may include assisting with preparing presentations, monitoring key deliverables, and managing the development and completion of reports; 
  • Support the Center’s external relations functions, including communications and grants development;
  • Related functions may include assisting with content for a variety of documents, including grant proposals and reports, prospect management, and research;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Health, Social Work, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or other related field;
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues. This includes communicating effectively with team members in various geographic regions and making contributions to the Center’s work;
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines;
  • Capacity to think strategically, critically, and develop proactive solutions to challenges;
  • Flexibility in working with new issues, topics, and approaches;
  • Ability to utilize software to improve work products. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, public health, social work, or other related field preferred. 
  • Interest in criminal justice, social service, public policy, research, and mental health policy.

Eligibility Requirements:

The preferred work location for this position is in Texas. This position may not be filled or performed in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Rhode Island, or Washington at this time. Relocation assistance not available. Successful candidates must show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
