Job Overview: As the Account Director, you will work closely with the Managing Director, supporting and mentoring our Client Managers to develop their commercial acumen, client communication skills, and ability to think strategically. You’ll serve as both a coach and leader, helping client managers reach a consistently high standard in delivering value to clients. This role is crucial in building client relationships, enhancing storytelling, and ensuring every interaction with clients demonstrates our client’s value.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Client Communication and Relationship Management

  • Guide Client Managers in handling complex client emails, crafting responses that are strategic, solution-oriented, and effectively diffuse difficult situations.
  • Review client communications, ensuring that both written and verbal updates communicate value and showcase the agency’s impact.

Value-Driven Storytelling

  • Support the creation of impactful narratives for monthly updates and quarterly business reviews (QBRs), turning data into compelling stories that resonate with clients.
  • Work with Client Managers to elevate good news to great news, highlighting our client’s contribution and value in a way that excites clients.

Responsive Guidance and Mentorship

  • Be a responsive sounding board for Client Managers, providing timely and constructive feedback that nudges them in the right direction, empowering them to act decisively.
  • Help instill a proactive, client-first mindset, encouraging managers to anticipate client needs and strategically address them.

Commercial and Business Mindset

  • Coach Client Managers to adopt a more business-oriented approach, focusing on opportunities that align with clients’ business goals and advocating for agency objectives.
  • Drive a commercial focus across all client interactions, from proposal development to client reporting.

Meeting Structuring and Leadership

  • Assist Client Managers in structuring meetings to achieve desired outcomes, emphasizing clear goals, impactful storytelling, and alignment with our client’s objectives.
  • Ensure that every client touchpoint is an opportunity to reinforce standards and foster long-term, value-driven partnerships.

Standards of Excellence

  • Hold Client Managers accountable to high standards in client service, monitoring progress and providing consistent feedback until these standards become the norm.
  • Bring a positive, energizing presence that motivates the team, cultivating a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7+ years in account management or client services, preferably within a digital agency environment in the UK or US.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills with a talent for diffusing challenging situations and communicating complex information in a client-friendly way.
  • Mentorship: Demonstrated experience in mentoring or managing teams, with a focus on cultivating independence and strategic thinking.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of business dynamics, with the ability to spot growth opportunities and align them with client needs.
  • Storytelling: Proven ability to translate data into compelling stories and create impactful decks, with an eye for detail and narrative.
  • Responsiveness and Agility: Quick to respond with thoughtful guidance, proactive in addressing issues, and agile in adapting to a fast-paced environment.
  • Energy and Positivity: A motivating presence with the ability to inspire and elevate the team’s performance, ensuring high standards are consistently met.
