Job Description/ Responsibilities
Mainframe Storage admin
- Extremely familiar with IBM z/OS operating system
- Knowledge on Parallel Sysplex concepts
- Experience mainframe LPAR builds
- Implement DFSMS
- Develop and maintain Client routines
- CSM experience
- Support DFSMSdss data movement, dump and restores of DASD volume
- Implement automatic backup and migration (DFSMShsm)
- Expertise in managing catalogs
- Implement and support advanced copy services like PPRC, XRC, Flashcopy
-Installing and configuring additional physical storage
- DR support

Mainframe z/OS System Programming
• Excellent understanding of System z architecture
• Excellent experience with z/OS version upgrades (Advantage if experience 3.1 upgrade or prior)
• Experience in building Mainframe LPAR and OS Upgrades
• Knowledge Catalog management, IBM system utilities
• Knowledge on VTAM, TCPIP, ACF2 and GDPS
• Installation of patches and fixes
• Installation and maintenance of ISV products, REXX, RMF, SMF
• Installation and customization of z/OS and related IBM or other ISV software;
• Extensive experience with providing performance and tuning using monitoring tools (f. ex. z/OS Performance Monitor or other tools);
• DIRMAINT administration – RACF/Top secret administration;
• REXX knowledge - SSI knowledge;
• Ability to support network configuration and maintenance (Real TCP/IP stack, VSWITCH, TCPIP tools in z/OS, etc.);
• Solid skills in z/Linux system cloning and configuration including memory and file system allocation;
• System parameters/parmlib maintenance
• Managing incidents on z/OS related issues
• z/OS performance monitoring and reporting
• Capable of planning and supporting Disaster recovery exercises
• Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures
• Experience with system indicators (logs, dumps, error) logs for pro-active management of system problems
• Installation and maintenance of ISV products (For z/OS)
• Ability to work with Developers in fixing issues
• Extremely familiar with IBM z/OS Upgrade
• Experience in Coordinating with Vendor to complete the upgrades
• Planning, installation, customization of z/Linux and guest operating system
• Ability to perform dump and restore of system data.
• Responsible for tolerating PTF maintenance for ISV products
• Access management - onboarding and access provisioning

Key Responsibilities:
• Incident Management / Problem Management by performing problem analysis and resolution implementation
• Support maintenance release and major OS upgrades.
• Process client requests for system software modifications
• Review system indicators (logs, dumps, error) logs for pro-active management of system problems
• Work with operations to monitor, maintain and IPL systems to improve consistency and availability
• Monitor / Tune system performance and work with performance engineering and capacity teams
• Ensure availability and performance objectives, as required by clients and management, are maintained for operating systems and for system software components
• Implement appropriate tools and processes to automate repeated tasks
• Manage various license codes for infrastructure software.
• Capable of planning and supporting Disaster recovery exercises
• Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures
• Implement changes as needed to support other towers and day-to-day operations.
• Work with IBM and other Independent Software Vendors on a regular basis
• Provide regular management reports / analysis to senior management team regarding Incidents, Changes and requests
