Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join the Hinkley Point C (HPC) Quality team focusing on performing Supply Chain Audits. This role is based in the South West, with travel required across the UK and internationally.

You will conduct audits of the HPC Project Supply Chain both on-site at HPC and at various global locations. Your role will involve planning, executing, and reporting on audits, ensuring that findings are effectively managed, followed by analysing audit results to provide valuable insights for management reporting on the project.

About the Department:

The Quality department is responsible for developing and maintaining policies, strategies, standards, and procedures, ensuring the implementation of best practices in quality management and oversees the effectiveness of HPC’s activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a risk-based Supply Chain Audit program to ensure conformance with ISO 9001 and HPC Project requirements.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Assurance, Inspection, Environmental, and Health & Safety teams for audit planning and outcomes.
  • Define audit scope, criteria, and objectives with Quality Management Leads.
  • Conduct unplanned audits as needed, based on risk reviews.
  • Engage stakeholders and auditees effectively in audit planning.
  • Monitor Non-Conformances to ensure timely closure and effective corrective actions.
  • Contribute to monthly dashboard reports on the Supply Chain Audit Program.
  • Analyse audit results to identify improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Experience of executing audit programmes.
  • Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001: 2018, ISO 14001: 2015)
  • Experience in the application of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001 standard in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Previous experience of working in a regulated environment (e.g. nuclear)
  • Membership of Chartered Quality Institute or IRCA
