Senior People Partner
Location – Parramatta
Employment type – Ongoing Full time
Salary – Clerk Grade 9/10 - $120,859 - $133,183 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation
Your role
The Senior People Partner is responsible for delivering operational and technical human resource guidance to clients, facilitating effective staff management and driving business improvement initiatives. This role supports the Manager, People Strategy & Development by optimizing human resource information for workforce planning and analytics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with relevant legislation.
Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) Overview
The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to affordable, quality housing.
The AHO is governed by an all-Aboriginal Board, which provides advice to the Minister for Water and Minister for Housing in NSW. In addition, the AHO manages and coordinates an annual capital works program, along with developing and implementing financial and resourcing strategies.
What you’ll do
As part of the People, Strategy & Development team, you will:
- Develop, analyse, and manage systems and processes that support People, Performance, and Culture initiatives, including employment conditions, job evaluations, workforce planning, and performance management.
- Participate in project teams and coordinate designated human resource project activities, ensuring alignment with human resource objectives and successful project outcomes.
- Offer strategic advice to clients on human resource policies, promoting compliance and facilitating best practices to mitigate risks.
- Work in partnership with another Senior People Partner and a Senior WHS Partner to provide case management assistance to the People Strategy & Development team, ensuring adherence to policy and legislative requirements while achieving best practice outcomes.
- Maintain and update the organizational structure for assigned client groups to ensure it remains current and relevant.
- Model high standards of professional behaviour and ethics, ensuring actions align with the Code of Ethics and Conduct, organizational values, and policies.
- Identify and escalate issues to leadership as necessary to ensure timely resolution and support for client needs.
- Manage a team responsible for
- the delivery of effective AHO-centric recruitment practices,
- administrative activities including establishment maintenance and general requests from stakeholders

The People Strategy & Development team is a customer-service oriented, solutions-focused team, with a core purpose of bringing their best every day to support the staff of the AHO and enable AHOs leaders to deliver on wide-ranging business objectives.
The position is based in 4 Parramatta Square, part of the Parramatta Square district, in a modern open plan office environment with all amenities nearby. This is a hybrid position with up to 4 days working in office per week and the rest working remotely. These arrangements may change according to business requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive knowledge of human resources legislation, policies, practices, and strategies.
- Proven experience in implementing client-focused human resource strategies, programs, and services.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of technical platforms, including project management tools and the complete Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience working with and a deep respect for Aboriginal culture and communities.
