Job description

Are you ready to drive product innovation in a growing tech company with a mission to change the rental industry?

At flatfair, we've built the foundations of our business and helped over 30,000 tenants save £25 million in upfront costs. With the core fundamentals of our deposit alternative product in place, we've got a consistent growth history and have secured tenancies on over 2,000 properties.

Now, we're poised to accelerate that growth by expanding on what we do now and adding new products. To help us achieve those goals, we're recruiting for a Product Manager to join the team to lead the delivery of our product vision.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to our Head of Product Engineering, Dwayne, You’ll have the unique opportunity to lead strategy and execution from start to finish, shaping the products used by tenants, landlords and agents to manage their tenancies as we scale.

  • Define our product roadmap: Collaborate with key stakeholders to build and refine a product roadmap that aligns with our mission and growth goals.
  • Drive development: Lead the full product lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering to launch and iteration, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Customer-centric approach: Act as the voice of our users—tenants, landlords, and agents—to create features and improvements that address their needs and drive value.
  • Data-driven decision making: Use customer insights, market research, and analytics to prioritize and validate product decisions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Gain alignment on priorities to ensure we're using our resources in the most effective way.
  • Continuous improvement: Track and analyse product performance, gathering feedback to enhance features and refine the user experience.

About you

  • Product management expertise: You have a strong background in product management, with a proven track record of leading product initiatives and aligning a product strategy to business objectives
  • Customer focused: You thrive on understanding user needs and translating them into effective, value-driven features and enhancements.
  • Data-informed: You’re comfortable diving into data, conducting market research, and validating ideas through user insights.
  • Solid project management skills: Able to organise our product activity to ensure we deliver on time, on budget and on spec.
  • Adaptable and autonomous: You’re excited about being the sole product lead and comfortable taking initiative to bring ideas to life in a fast-growing company.
  • Collaborative Spirit: You work well with cross-functional teams and are skilled at bringing teams together, gathering input from stakeholders and communicating product goals and updates clearly.
  • Strong communicator: You’re able to convey complex ideas in ways that inspire, guide, and align the team.
  • Constantly curious:  You'll show a strong desire to learn, and you are always looking to understand how we can do better - with a dash of pragmatism on how we get there

Who You Might Be: You may have held roles like Product Lead, Product Specialist, or Product Owner, and you’re excited about combining strategic vision with hands-on product development in a dynamic, impact-driven environment.

About us

In the UK £5.2 billion is locked up in traditional deposit schemes that currently offer a poor experience for all parties. Our vision is to change that and make every rental experience positive for landlords, agents, and tenants - through choice, fairness and transparency.

Our solution allows tenants to secure a new home with a small check-in fee instead of paying for a costly deposit, whilst giving landlords up to double the protection of traditional deposits.
