Overview

Burlington is hiring a Manager of Asset Protection Equipment and Technology to manage all Asset Protection Equipment and Technology initiatives across the organization. We are hiring 2 managers on the team: one will focus on Burglar Alarm Systems & the other will focus on CCTV Systems Service. This includes the responsibility for design, planning, and implementation efforts through the stores, corporate, and distribution footprint. In this role, you will interact with leaders of field and corporate departments to facilitate support and alignment on technology and equipment initiatives. You will support Burlington’s commitment to safe and secure locations by executing systemic protocols to ensure equipment is working and functioning as intended. You will work with internal partners and external partners to define technology requirements and hold teams accountable to defined SLAs.

The Manager, AP Equipment and Technology manages the team responsible for project management, including new equipment installations, existing repair and maintenance, and modifications and retrofits. These teams are responsible for ensuring Asset Protection Equipment and Technology is scoped and implemented through a consistent and effective process that is on brand and within the overall department strategy. Their key role is leveraging technology to support safe and secure environments and shortage reducing strategies through a consistent and brand implementation and installation approach.

Through your leadership of Equipment and Technology initiatives across the entire company, this position is responsible for contributing to overall company profitability and success. The Manager of AP Equipment and Technology will also serve as a leader within the Asset Protection department and support the overall development of policies and programs.

A Day in the Life:

The Manager, AP Equipment & Technology plays a crucial role in leading an impactful Equipment and Technology strategy by:

  • Leading and validating that the standards for all AP Equipment and Technology items, including CCTV, Alarms, EAS, and physical security projects, are met.
  • Ensuring all projects have the correct scope of work and expectations are consistent with overall AP Equipment strategy. Ensures that specific plans for each project track to a completion on time, within scope and on budget.
  • Working closely with internal and external partners to communicate project deliverables and status updates. This includes hosting kick-off calls and post project recap sessions to set expectations and hold teams accountable. Create feedback loop to capture relevant information for process improvement.
  • Working closely with external partners, including vendors and contractors, to communicate project expectations, timelines, deliverables, and professionalism. Additionally, create mechanisms (photo validation, virtual tours, etc.) to regularly review work product to ensure it matches scope and aligns with AP Equipment strategy.
  • Owning and stewarding the overall project budgets to ensure proper targeting and forecasting. This includes the bid process, CERs, and purchase order agreements.
  • Providing oversight and leadership to the holistic AP Department installation and upgrade schedule with a focus on business needs, priorities, and proper workload planning.
  • Prioritizing and leading special projects and requests based on immediate physical security concerns. This could include the maintenance and repair of existing equipment, or the installation of new equipment/devices.
  • Traveling to specific sites and projects to walk scope with internal and external partners, review completed work, or strategize for future program enhancements.
  • Contributing to the planning of the overall AP Equipment and Technology strategic roadmap.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Asset Protection Equipment and Technology Program: Manage and oversee all Asset Protection Equipment and Technology initiatives across the organization. This includes the responsibility for design, planning, and implementation efforts through the stores, corporate, and distribution footprint
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and external vendors: Interact with leaders of field and corporate departments to facilitate support and alignment on technology and equipment initiatives. Work with internal partners and external partners to define technology requirements and hold teams accountable to defined SLAs. Create feedback loop to capture relevant information for process improvement
  • Lead AP Equipment and Technology Teams: Provide leadership and guidance to the teams responsible for both program and project management, including new equipment installations, existing repair and maintenance, and modifications and retrofits.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a subject matter expert for all things related to AP Equipment and technology across the organization. Champion the strategy for design and implementation with internal business partners

You’ll Come With:

  • Minimum 4 - 6 years of experience working in a technology or equipment related function/industry; familiarity with retail environments is also a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to anticipate and react
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of influencing cross functional business partners
  • Excellent analytical skills and conceptual ability to recognize opportunities
  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple projects at one time and comfortable working with tight deadlines or ambiguous scenarios; Has a clear bias for action and holds others accountable to results
  • Self-motivated individual who can be successful in a fast-paced environment
  • Occasional travel required. Ability to walk for long periods in stores and distribution centers.
