Job description

Position: Subcontractor – Student Mentor Provider (NYC DOE-Approved)
Location: New York City, NY
Type: Contract/Per Diem

We are seeking experienced student mentor providers to join our team as subcontractors. This role involves working with K-12 students in New York City public schools to offer individualized mentoring, guidance, and emotional support in alignment with New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships with students to support their academic, personal, and social-emotional development.
  • Provide consistent, structured mentoring to foster positive behaviors, self-esteem, and goal-setting skills.
  • Work closely with school staff and families to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Collaborate with school counselors and teachers to identify students' needs and coordinate appropriate interventions.
  • Align mentoring strategies with the NYC DOE’s Respect for All program and other relevant student support frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with K-12 students in a mentoring or youth development capacity, preferably within the NYC public school system.
  • Familiarity with NYC DOE protocols and initiatives, such as social-emotional learning and positive behavior interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to document interactions and progress in compliance with DOE standards.
  • Preferred: Background in education, counseling, or youth services.
