Job Description

The MES Engineer shall support KOSTAL in operating our shop floor IT landscape, especially our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Main objective of the job is system maintenance and support but you will support in rollout projects working on topics like requirements engineering, system customization, documentation or user training.

Main tasks, roles and responsibilities:

  • Help operating our 11 HYDRA (MES) instances around the globe on technical and business process level.
  • Monitor our MES systems proactively to identify potential issues, performance bottlenecks, and areas for optimization.
  • Conduct regular health checks and system audits to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate maintenance tasks such as software updates, patches, and system upgrades with internal and external stakeholders to keep MES systems up-to-date and secure.
  • Manage configuration changes to MES business processes in accordance with established change management processes.
  • Provide technical and business process support and guidance to MES users, including troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and providing training on functionalities and best practices.
  • Collaborate with end-users to understand their needs and requirements and closely work with the solution architect to provide solutions accordingly.
  • Participate in rollout projects to establish our HYDRA solution in new production sites around the world.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Work experiences – time/seniority/ sector:

  • 4+ years as an MES Engineer or in troubleshooting MES issues.
  • Experiences in Automotive Industry or discrete manufacturing industry
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting MES-related technical or business processual issues and performing detailed diagnostics
  • Knowledge in underlining infrastructure like Windows Server and Networking
  • Basic understanding in Webservers and Web-technology

Technical/ IT knowledge:

  • Proven Experience in MES is a must.
  • Experience in HYDRA highly welcome.

  • Excellent communication skills and customer orientation to interact with IT colleagues, business stakeholders and external partners
  • Intercultural competencies to work within our global MES community.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Prioritize tasks based on business need and business impact.
