Job description

Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hiya, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we have a swanky new office in London that has all the bells and whistles. Even though you'll find us in Shoreditch, you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

About the Group/Team

Marketing’s mission at Canva is for Canva to become “the most loved brand in the world”. Canva’s International Marketing Group is a diverse and distributed group of marketers who take this mission forward to drive user growth, brand awareness, and affinity in our priority international markets.

As part of the International Marketing Group, our Europe Marketing team is responsible for driving market-specific growth goals and comprehensive market strategies across Europe across a variety of functions - performance marketing, brand, events, partnerships, social, community engagement and other growth channels.

What you’ll do

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Paving the way for Partnerships to contribute to Europe Marketing’s Crazy Big Goals, namely strong MAU growth and driving consideration of Canva as a tool for work
  • Building structure around our Partnerships (inclusive of partner events) plans, building frameworks and playbooks to ensure maximum impact, relevance and execution quality
  • Acting as main POC in key partnership conversation, working in close partnership with local Growth Marketing Managers to ensure on the ground execution feels ‘truly local’
  • Managing partnership commercials closely, leading negotiations and ensuring cross functional stakeholders (Finance, Sales etc) integrated into planning as needed
  • Planning with Canva’s ‘Two Step Plan’ in mind, always looking for opportunities for our partnerships and activations to serve as a Force For Good
  • Primarily focused on a B2C audience, but maintaining a close partnership with Canva’s B2B team to ensure partnerships with Event owners are aligned to regional strategic priorities in order to drive maximum impact and brand exposure from every dollar invested

What we’re looking for

  • You have senior leadership experience brokering partnerships, sponsoring across Europe, ideally within a start up/scale up environment
  • You have a proven track record of delivering successful commercial partnerships with brands that would serve as a good fit for Canva
  • You have experience working within the SME / Knowledge Worker & Consumer space (MLB/Enterprise is a plus)
  • You enjoy designing commercial structures, yet appreciate the critical need for brand synergy
  • Bonus: You have designed Owned & Paid Event Sponsorships, aligned to strategic goals at various stages of the Marketing funnel

What's in it for you?

Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard - and we do - but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a range of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.

Here's a taste of what's on offer:

  • Equity packages - we want our success to be yours too
  • Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers
  • An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more
  • Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and supports you personally
