Job Summary

The Senior Demand Analyst serves as a highly analytic customer and category expert, utilizing multiple sources of data to develop a rolling 24-month unit and revenue demand plan for assigned customers. Key strengths include understanding product portfolio and customer/consumer behavior to create and maintain statistical forecast models while incorporating business intelligence from Sales and Marketing partners. The aligned demand plan will provide desired accuracy levels to drive optimal inventory and service rates in support of business plans and objectives. The process of forecast development is collaborative, requiring strong leadership and partnership.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain an item level unit and dollarized demand plan over a rolling 24-month horizon using customer inputs and statistical models.
  • Lead data cleaning, analysis, and preparation activities: utilize working knowledge in conducting exploratory data analysis to extract meaningful patterns, trends, and insights from complex datasets (including retailer and category level data).
  • Champion digital marketing and engagement strategies to ensure effective capital deployment and accountability with key focus on, but not limited to, pricing and promotion levers to influence success on service level and financial business objectives.
  • Monitor shipment and POS demand data to determine patterns, trends, variability to include but not limited to deviations in demand due to weather, competitive situations and customer's inventory strategies.
  • Drive frequent and detailed collaboration with commercial sales partners to enhance statistical models with account specific business intelligence including, but not limited to, plan-o-gram reset strategies, new items, new item cannibalization, promotion plans, customer inventory levels, historical and current POS and shipment trends.
  • Influence success with customers by interacting with the key retailers to address input exceptions, strategic opportunities, compliance, ordering, and promotions
  • Facilitate and manage monthly forecast pre-demand review meetings with sales team business partners. Prepare analysis to support position and recommendations in clear, concise formats to garner alignment.
    • Clearly document assumptions driving forecast adds/changes to support demand planning process
    • Capture risks and opportunities to the demand plan to communicating to key business partners
  • Participate in monthly Demand Review as part of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for key customer accounts.
  • Create and maintain critical SAP master data elements to ensure accuracy of demand plans.
  • Frequent cross functional interaction with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Service to balance demand and supply.
  • Analyze and report forecast metric results. Make forecast adjustments and take corrective action in forecast process to minimize error in bias and accuracy.
  • Manage system generated alerts identifying trends and forecast bias for proactive actions
  • Collaborate in the Annual Operating Plan Forecast for assigned customers.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure timely completion in a fluid environment.
Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required in, Supply Chain, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science or Business
    • Additional supply chain certifications of 6Sigma and APICS CPIM a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, or similar role.
  • Experience in consumer-packaged goods required, E-commerce experience a plus
Required Skills

  • A strong analytical and quantitative mindset to handle and interpret large amounts of data.
  • Adept at problem solving
  • Experience with statistical forecast modeling to include selecting, validating, and updating statistical algorithms
  • Comprehensive understanding of demand forecasting systems, SAP IBP experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills – ability to build relationships with and influence peers to achieve desired business outcome.
  • Effectively communicate and manage across functions at various levels.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven aptitude for multitasking; ability to identify and manage a variety of high priority tasks and provide resolution in a calm and effective manner.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

Work Environment

This position is open to a remote working environment with up to 25% ravel requirements. When onsite, working conditions are normal for an office environment.
