Summary:
Under general direction of a Senior Director or VP, the role is responsible for the overall development, maintenance and sustainment of ABC’s Engineered Labor Standards including the management of Manhattan’s Labor Management system configuration across the ABC Distribution Center Network. The role is also responsible for project charter of one to two projects at one time which can range in size, complexity and cross functional involvement. The projects will be for ABC subsidiaries or its trading partners, and examples of the type of projects includes new facility design and construction, rework of existing facilities, new system and/or process implementations across multiple sites.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Directly responsible for leading the overall development, maintenance and sustainment of the Cencora Labor Management (LM) Program and Team
Ensure team member performance, growth and development through regular coaching, recognition, evaluations, goal setting and development plans to support broader organizational objectives
Development and/or Maintenance Engineered Standards using statistical analysis, time motion studies for continuous sustainment of the Labor Management Incentive Program
Identify innovative opportunities which further expand the capabilities and benefits of the Labor Management program
Support Warehouse Process Improvement Projects utilizing Lean techniques and/or Engineering Studies for Productivity Gains/Benefits and Leverage Best Practice Methodologies for Standardization Efforts
Recommend methods for improving associate performance, work efficiency, optimizing sequence of steps, workflow to maximize utilization of equipment and workforce
Provide executive level updates and analysis on performance and future opportunities of the Labor Management program
Foster a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate and coordinate with peer and DC leadership to drive innovation and continuous improvement
Define and develop various metrics, KPIs, and management reports/alerts of supported systems and programs
Partner with senior leadership in development and execution of business cases and project charters
Advise, lead and support business projects
Coordinates with other internal project teams to ensure alignment and provide regular status updates
Develop strong relationships within Distribution Services, Warehouse Operations Leadership
Coordinates with other internal project teams to ensure alignment
Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
Performs related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications:
BS Industrial Engineering or related discipline from accredited university, a Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business is a Plus
10+ Years’ Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Warehousing Distribution
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Industrial Engineering Management or similar discipline
Training and/or Certification in Green Belt Lean and/or Six Sigma Engineering methods, preferable Black Belt
Experience and Knowledgeable with various Time Study Methods, Master Standard Data (MSD) Development, MTM, and/or MOST
Experience with Labor Management software
Thorough knowledge, understanding and experience in fundamental warehouse design, material handling equipment and systems; knowledge of warehouse operations management and systems functionality
Demonstrated project management and leadership skills for multiple, large capital projects.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to communicate (and work) effectively with people from different technical and business backgrounds, acting as a liaison, understanding and appreciating different perspectives and translating into terms necessary for any group or individual to understand.
Ability to lead dynamically and energize multidiscipline work teams to learn and apply new skills and techniques to respond to business needs
Good analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong presentation skills: ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
Ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, Access databases, Word and AutoCad
Prior experience in either consulting, Six-Sigma, Lean
Manufacturing or Kaizen is beneficial
