Job Title: Program Compliance Specialist - Remote

Location: Remote position serving the Indianapolis and surrounding areas, IN

Job Overview

We are in search of a diligent and meticulous Program Compliance Specialist to become an integral part of our dedicated team. This position entails performing management reviews of assigned properties to ensure compliance with HUD regulations. You will be tasked with reviewing tenant file documents, executing rent calculations, and adhering to Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) standards. Moreover, you will conduct follow-up inspections on multifamily project-based Section 8 units as referred by HUD, documenting conditions and ensuring requisite corrections are implemented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and inform property owners/agents about upcoming management review dates.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of all relevant property data prior to on-site visits.
  • Execute on-site Management, Occupancy, and FHEO reviews of designated projects.
  • Record health and safety violations and liaise with owners to confirm necessary corrections.
  • Analyze compiled information and prepare Management Review Reports.
  • Maintain precise and timely updates in the Integrated Real Estate Maintenance System (iREMS) and the Automated Contract Administration Processing (ACAP) System.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with property owners/managers, tenants, HUD, and the broader community.
  • Exhibit professionalism, precision, thoroughness, and technical acumen in all functions.
  • Comply with quality management system requirements.
  • Assist with additional duties as delegated by the Program Compliance Manager.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a relevant field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in property management, specifically with multifamily project-based Section 8 properties, is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with other Section 8 properties and/or a background as a financial analyst is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the state is essential. A valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and current automobile insurance are required.
  • Successful completion of HUD Subsidized Multi-Family Housing Occupancy Training and passing the Certified Assisted Housing Manager Exam are mandatory.
