Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Project/Program Manager III in Salem, Oregon, where you will play an integral role in managing small-scale projects with a focus on minimizing risk and complexity. This position provides a unique opportunity to work under the guidance of experienced supervisors while taking ownership of smaller projects and contributing to larger initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively apply project management principles (PMBOK) to oversee small-scope projects or assist in larger project endeavors.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Take responsibility for project scope, configuration management, and change control processes, including managing issues logs and testing new systems.
  • Coordinate and lead project resources, including technical personnel and stakeholders, ensuring successful resource allocation.
  • Facilitate project communications through regular meetings and status updates, keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Ensure compliance with project management, development, testing, and documentation standards throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Collaborate with the Local System Administrator (LSA) for seamless application implementation.
  • Supervise and monitor outsourced tasks to guarantee alignment with project objectives.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in managing small-scale projects or providing support on larger initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of PMBOK project management principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and timelines effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Strong communication and team coordination skills, including leadership experience in project meetings.
  • Familiarity with configuration management processes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in project management, with a preference for candidates who have worked in government agencies or public sector projects.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, along with project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant project management experience, showcasing the ability to manage resources and teams effectively.
