The Project Services Team in the GSMA provides project and portfolio management capabilities to deliver change initiatives across the mobile industry. Working in close partnership with technical and subject matter experts within the GSMA and from across the mobile industry, the Project Services team manages a wide range of Technology, Advocacy, Product Development, Corporate, and Marketing and Events initiatives.
Project Services is the delivery engine for projects, and centre of excellence for project management standards through the GSMA. As well as delivering projects to agreed cost, quality and timelines in a standard manner, the Project Services team maintains a strong focus on delivering benefits to our members and to the mobile industry.
As a Senior Go-to-Market Project Manager in the Project Services team, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-profilemultiple GSMA Open Gateway Market Champion initiative go-to-market projects in target markets and to provide project leadership to the team delivering these projects.
Top class delivery of go-to-market project objectives and deliverables, on time, on budget and to the expected quality, will be the key measure of success.
An ability to apply high-level stakeholder management techniques to a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and industry wide is essential in our project management roles. This includes creating and delivering effective stakeholder management plans and reporting project progress effectively to the Head of Project Delivery, Head of PMO Portfolio Director and relevant senior project sponsors & leads. relevant project sponsors.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will:
Facilitate and deliver a collaborative go-to-market initiatives with mobile operators and ecosystem players in target markets
Ensure Antitrust practice through diligently observing & enforcing agreed protocols
Map out project stakeholders interests, influence and dynamics
Implement an effective stakeholder and communication approach to manage & influence multi-level stakeholders for project success
Prepare & co-Chair efficient and effective internal and external / operator project meetings (up to C-level) and follow-up on the meeting outcomes
Engage and influence C-level executive stakeholders (internal & external) effectively to shape and progress high-profile projects in target markets
Establish clear roles & responsibilities, and secure resources required for the project/programme with ecosystem champions and partners as well as with internal stakeholders
Implement effective project/programme governance for decision-making and transparency
Scope, Plan & Manage large-scale complex and/or multiple projects across the project services portfolios with excellent planning, control measures and communication techniques
Prepare & present management-level view of projects/programmes to C-level stakeholders
Deliver a variety of project types to time, cost, and quality, escalating risks and issues proactively
Apply knowledge and demonstrate excellent and appropriate project management methodologies to planning cycles, such as Agile and Prince2
Conduct effective stakeholder and communication management techniques, conveying information to a variety of multi-level stakeholders
Work closely with the PMO Portfolio Director to provide consistent, high quality management information to senior stakeholders
Manage project budgets, financials and procurement, in adherence to GSMA processes and within agreed tolerances, always seeking to maximise value and reduce external expenditure
Support Portfolio DirectorsHead of Project Delivery & Head of PMO in developing effective business project management processes in collaboration with team members
Gain an overview of the different activities across the GSMA and identify opportunities for collaboration
Lead teams and build positive and effective relationships with team members, mentoring and collaborating to achieve success
The successful candidate will report into the Head of Project Delivery
This is a hands-on project management role; successful candidates are required to be self-motivated and able to work autonomously to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will display the following qualities:
Experience of managing cross-functional local and cross-organisational projects in a global matrix programme settings
Previous experience facilitating & delivering a collaborative initiatives with mobile ecosystem players, governed by Antitrust rules.
Diligent in applying and facilitating antitrust practice & rules
Track record of successfully managing Go-to-market projects & Product Development projects with practical experience managing product development & go-to-market lifecycles,
Familiar with working with either Enterprise Solutions or Application Developers – demand, API development, development community engagement.
Comfortable operating with a level of ambiguity
Able to adapt approach and communication to the needs of different audiences (seniority, interests, etc.).
Solid experience in managing significant project budgets and applying the relevant change control tactics as required
Demonstrate effective stakeholder management and networking skills to build effective internal and external working relationships
Able to absorb complex information and communicate effectively at all levels to both expert and non-expert audiences
Applies knowledge and experience in analysis and problem solving
Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, demonstrating clear and concise communications and written fluency in English & Local languages
Can prepare and confidently present to a variety of audiences up to C-suites, and conducts excellent presentation and information sharing practices
Experience of working in an international and cross cultural environment
Understanding of and a proven willingness to gain understanding of broader operator compliance and governance topics
Commercial understanding of project outcomes and how these relate to an organisation’s P&L
Actively seeks and responds to learning and development opportunities
