• This role reports to the Business & Quality Assurance Lead who is part of the Business Assurance Team. Part of your role will be to deputise for the Business & Quality Assurance Lead as and when required.
• We are looking for an individual who has a confident approach, is self-motivated with good interpersonal skills. You will be able to work independently but also be part of a collaborative team keeping the end client in mind at all times.
• Whilst this isn’t a directly customer facing role, the duties you will perform will contribute to the overall positive outcomes for our clients.

About the Role

Level: Level 4

Department: Business Assurance

Location: Birmingham | Carlisle l Chester l Exeter l Leeds l London. The role will be linked to one or more of the regional offices with remote working for part of the week.

Contract type: Permanent.

As this is a newly formed team you will be vital in helping the review and refinement of key processes. Being part of this new team at this early stage will help you become pivotal in shaping Quilter Cheviot Financial Plannings future aspiration.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for communication of any technical changes which impact the team’s daily activity. Conduct calibration activities aiming for a consistent application of the Advice Standards. Our aspirations are for market leading right first time rates.

  • The role will include initial and ongoing training and support for Business Assurance Specialists. You may also be asked to support the training team as and when required.

  • Liaise closely with independent QA function, aligning where necessary on workload and outputs.

  • Help plan and lead thematic reviews, liaising with any outsourced providers of independent QA. Support the Business Assurance team with any learning trends from these reviews, which may be formal or informal in nature.

  • Deputise for the Business Assurance lead, where necessary. This will involve acting as an initial escalation point, reviewing and assessing financial advice, acting as a peer check where needed. You will assist in the oversight and escalation of any breaches of regulation or infringement of internal processes.

  • Support the Business Assurance Lead in the scoping, planning, delivering and reporting of Business Assurance reviews.

  • Update internal systems to record progress and outcomes of reviews undertaken.

  • Collate and review business assurance MI and data trends, feeding inputs into adviser oversight, customer forums or other channels as appropriate.

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure any changes to process or standards are delivered and embedded as intended.

  • Support the delivery of any compliance monitoring, audit activity or remediation cases where potential or confirmed customer detriment is identified, where applicable.

  • Drive a culture of support, working together for a common goal and encouraging individual responsibility for the benefit of the team.

  • Adhere to all Business Assurances policy and procedures.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who has the following.

  • Experience of working in a Financial Service environment.

  • A broad understanding of the Financial Planning markets in terms of Advice, Product Providers & Lenders.

  • A broad knowledge and understanding of Financial Service Regulation such as RDR, MIFID ll, SDR, Supervision and Oversight, Data Protection, Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crime, Data Security and Consumer Duty.

  • Strong analytical approach and inquisitive nature.

  • A professional attitude including a professional telephone manner and professional communication skills are essential.

  • You will need the ability to cope under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities. 

  • You will need a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. As well as management information via systems such as Xplan and Worksmart.

  • Demonstrate good customer outcomes.

  • Contribute to building a great environment to work in.

  • Operate effectively – treat the business as if it’s your own.

  • Own decision and tasks.

  • Build on your own knowledge by self- learning, share knowledge and best practice with your colleagues.
