Job description

Position Overview

In January 2023, our client introduced a $30M early-stage, equity-focused fund, officially registered under the ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market) in the United Arab Emirates.

As Head of Venture, you will oversee an established portfolio of nine companies (with six LOI projects pending deployment), featuring outstanding performance metrics such as a 330% IRR and a TVPI of over 13.8 (representing growth exceeding 1380%). This role will involve leading a global team operating in the GCC and SEA regions, with rapid expansion currently underway.

Requirements

Must-Have:

5+ years of experience in venture capital;
Proficiency in English (spoken and written);
Strong analytical capabilities with a background in traditional finance (e.g., hedge funds, investment banking, venture capital, private equity) and/or venture capital;
Significant experience in raising capital;
Proven leadership or operational experience;
A well-established network that can be leveraged for deal flow and strategic partnerships, along with demonstrated expertise in identifying high-potential investments;
Experience with protocols (e.g., business development, engineering, ecosystem knowledge);
Sales acumen, with the ability to close deals and a natural inclination toward networking;
Solid understanding of portfolio management;
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and Mac platforms.

Nice-to-Have:

M&A or trading experience is a plus but not mandatory;
A financial designation or license is beneficial but not required.

Role & Responsibilities:

Manage a multinational team of venture associates, ensuring alignment with the investment thesis and participating in the investment committee;
Support the deployment of capital by sourcing, conducting due diligence, and executing high-quality deals;
Oversee deal flow, monitor investment exposure, manage liquid/illiquid assets, and track KPIs, while maintaining balance within the portfolio;
Take a central role in DeFi and liquidity operations, working closely with the quantitative trading team;
Conduct market research, analyze investment trends, build financial models, perform valuation analysis, and support portfolio projects;
Prepare and manage regular reports and briefs (e.g., investment notes, quarterly reports, monthly summaries);
Collaborate with the fund manager to ensure team cohesion, optimize capital efficiency, and expand the firm's influence;
Enhance the fund's visibility through interviews, networking with other funds, attending and speaking at conferences, and engaging with the broader public;
Present the fund to prospective LPs and contribute to the closing process;
Coordinate with the finance department to ensure compliance with internal procedures;
Utilize company systems and repositories to maintain secure and organized records.
