Job description

Overview:

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Systems Senior Engineer/Team Lead to provide support to the FLETC Enterprise IT Support Services contract located at FLETC Headquarters in Glynco, GA.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personnel resources with expertise in the latest server, blade server, virtual server, database services, storage, application, storage and security technologies
  • Design, install, configure, administer, manage, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, test, monitor, and document the FLETC enterprise IT server and storage infrastructure environment
  • Design, install, configure, administer, manage, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, test, monitor, and document all enterprise server and storage hardware and operating systems required to keep the FLETC server and storage applications, network applications, enterprise applications, and IT Service Desk ticketing application operational at an optimal level and secure in accordance with DHS and FLETC policies
  • Ensure that server and storage hardware and operating systems performance are optimal at all times.
  • Monitor and document server and storage operating systems performance, utilize this information to develop recommendations to enhance performance, and implement approved changes
  • Design, install, configure, administer, manage, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, test, monitor, and document all system applications and services required to operate the enterprise server and storage environment
  • Perform system applications and services management of the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) environment
  • Design, develop, evaluate, implement, test and maintain enterprise server and storage security architectures and solutions which support business information requirements while appropriately protecting Government technologies and information
  • Manage enterprise server and storage infrastructure security
  • Secure enterprise server and storage infrastructure through the use of antivirus, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, server and storage monitoring tools and database/operating systems security
  • Write, and/or orally present, comprehensive reports of enterprise server and storage infrastructure security proposals, designs, analysis, findings, and recommendations
  • Design, install, configure, backup, administer, manage, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, test, monitor, and document the local network applications at various sites
Qualifications:
  • At least five years of detailed technical experience in system engineering or related field within the last seven years
  • U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
  • Experience in prioritizing system outages, projects and tasks while providing technical assistance and resolution to team to ensure optimal system performance
  • Ability to design and implement operational server systems and prototypes according to engineering data and Government requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of systems principles, protocols and design to evaluate and gain optimal performance
  • Experience collaborating with Network and System Engineers, vendors, and other personnel to identify, define, and solve trending or developmental problems; maintain, troubleshoot and repair systems infrastructure
  • Ability to communicate, coordinate and resolve technical issues with data center engineering on systems that are maintained at each data center location

Desired:

  • Experience with FLETC or another DHS agency
  • MCSE/MCSA
  • Active Secret clearance
