The Role

The Director of Logistics is an important role at Cymax Group Technologies, driving our carrier acquisition, relations, and operations strategy and execution for our eCommerce business unit. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with cross-functional leaders to align logistics strategy with business and customer needs. You are action oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment, ready to ensure that your team is focused on consistently delivering high value and high-quality solutions. You are comfortable making strategic decisions and equally adept at diving deep into tasks, rolling up your sleeves to get the work done.

Who You Are

  • 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience working across all areas of logistics and multiple carrier modes.
  • Experience with large parcel shipping, working with US carriers and different freight modes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive efficient transportation operations with consistent year over year cost reductions.
  • Confident in multitasking, prioritizing and organizing tasks to meet deadlines and increase efficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments to align logistics and fulfillment operations with broader business objectives.
  • A solid track record in logistics management, including carrier relationship management.
  • Entrepreneurial, organized, detail orientated and passionate about logistics
  • Strong skills in data analysis and the ability to independently extract and interpret insights without waiting for data delivery.
  • Ability to engage constructively and collaboratively with individual contributors and leaders at all levels.

What You’ll Do 

  • Logistics Operations: oversee all outbound and reverse logistics operations, ensuring sound carrier performance and that service level agreements are being met
  • Carrier management: build and maintain a strong carrier network, continuously improving transportation cost-effectiveness and service quality including contract negotiations
  • Process improvements: analyze logistics processes and industry trends, enhancing our operational efficiency and drive automation wherever possible.
  • Reverse logistics: oversee and improve our processes related to return freight and carrier claims or carrier related escalations 
  • Drive continuous improvement in our logistics processes driven by data and analysis.
  • Monitor the performance of transportation providers through establishing and tracking KPIs to ensure they meet service and quality standards. Responsible for the overall health and performance of the company's freight carriers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.  Manage and own the budget for the logistics function and freight on the P&L.

The pay range for this role is between $120,000 to $150,000 annually depending on experience, skills, training and organizational needs. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location.
