Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will leverage your comprehensive expertise in nursing, mental health assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology to deliver exemplary care to our patients. Your collaborative efforts with fellow clinicians will ensure that our patients receive optimal mental health support, particularly within skilled nursing settings and among elderly individuals.

  • Conduct thorough health assessments, including the collection of medical and psychosocial history
  • Accurately document patient symptoms while performing physical examinations
  • Diagnose mental health disorders and formulate individualized treatment plans that may involve medications and diverse therapies
  • Educate patients on healthy practices to foster overall well-being
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses
  • Order and interpret laboratory test results
  • Follow up with patients to assess treatment effectiveness and make necessary adjustments

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A background as a registered nurse (RN) with an associate degree in nursing, a hospital-based nursing diploma, or a bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) from a recognized accrediting body such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
