Collins Aerospace Engineering Solutions is seeking a Sr. Software Development Manager to lead a software development solutions and support team of highly skilled developers and support personnel working on critical software solutions within Collins Aerospace.

The manager will oversee a team working on projects ranging from new solution development, deployment, to production user support. This role requires a strong leader with experience in leading software development and support teams.

** This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote. **

What YOU will do:

  • You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and distributing responsibilities for the team.

  • You will be responsible for the development and technical coaching of staff as well as onboarding and assimilation of new hires.

  • You will be responsible for successful execution of design, development, configurations and production support execution for critical software solutions.

  • You will follow established standard work activities while identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement.

  • You will participate in initiatives to define improvement plans and strategy.

  • You will manage vendor and internal customer relationships to ensure the service levels required by a high performing business are in place.

  • You will assist with the scoping and implementation of application and infrastructure solutions while ensuring that they are supportable, aligned with Collins Digital strategic road maps, and not reliant on single point support.

  • You will collaborate effectively with Enterprise DT Organization to leverage IT applications and resources to effectively support and deliver solutions.

Qualifications you must have:

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

  • 8+ years of Software Management experience.

  • Ability to communicate with leadership across Enterprise Organizations.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experiencing leading a team of technical professionals

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and team building

  • Experience in software solutions development and user support

  • Knowledge and project execution using the Agile methodology

  • Familiar with bidding, planning and execution process for projects in a large organization (Collins Management System Gates 1 through 7)

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
