Job Overview

We are looking for an accomplished Construction Staff Accountant to join our esteemed corporate accounting team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to the financial operations of a nationally recognized general contractor, enhancing your career while supporting our organization’s success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate and document accruals, overhead absorption, inter-company allocations, fixed asset depreciation, and amortization.
  • Prepare and submit sales and gross receipts taxes.
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process and financial statement preparation.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and reconcile job cost as well as intercompany accounts.
  • Oversee corporate credit card management.
  • Support management during year-end audits and tax preparation processes.
  • Aid in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Execute ad hoc reporting, analytics, and internal audits.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a corporate general ledger environment.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with cost or construction accounting is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Timberline/Sage software.
  • A self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of preparing and filing Sales and Use Taxes (SALT) is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience is essential.
