Job description

Mize CPAs Inc. was recently named a Top 200 Workplace for 2024 by USA Today! We are a leading regional accounting and IT firm with offices in Topeka and Overland Park, Kansas. Our firm works with clients in a number of industries and has a rapidly growing restaurant and hospitality division that serves clients nationwide.

We are looking for an in-person only Program Manager in the Topeka and/or Overland Park office. Full-time availability is needed, 2300 hours per year. After initial training of approximately 3 - 6 months, a hybrid-remote work schedule can be discussed.

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have at least five years' experience overseeing multiple business critical initiatives to help an organization achieve its' goals. This should include handling complex projects that span long periods of time, aligning with larger company goals, and coordinating project teams and budgeting needs. This role ensures that everything runs smoothly and follows program goals while maintaining a high level of detail for each project overseen throughout the workday.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives
  • Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement
  • Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
  • Oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached
  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans
  • Assess the internal and external culture or client changes needed
  • Manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity
  • Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
  • Manage program and project teams for optimal return on investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives
  • Build critical change management and communication plans to deliver the initiatives
  • Learn/apply program management skills on programs to ensure communication of scope, milestones, risks, and decisions
  • Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Develop and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives
  • Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks and produce program reports for managers and stakeholders

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with major in Business, Management, Business Administration, or other related business field
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in program/project management
  • Outstanding knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
  • Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, communication, facilitation, and organization
  • Demonstrated ability to autonomously design, gain approval, and execute business critical strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or other related business field
  • Strong working knowledge of Smartsheet, Monday.com, or other project management suite
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Experience utilizing LEAN project management methodologies
