Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled JAVA Data Processing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing and developing data products and platforms for our customer applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in data processing, and will be responsible for collaborating with product teams to identify business requirements and design large-scale solution architectures. You will own key analytics components, services, and offerings from ideation to production deployment, engaging in experimentation, automation, simulation, and contributing to performance tuning, improvements, and load testing.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust data products and platforms tailored for customer applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to gather and analyze business requirements.
• Architect large-scale solutions that meet the needs of our clients while ensuring scalability and performance.
• Own the development and deployment of key analytics components and services.
• Engage in continuous experimentation and automation to enhance product offerings.
• Conduct performance tuning and load testing to ensure optimal system performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team to foster a culture of learning and innovation.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of Software Engineering experience with a strong focus on data processing.
• Education: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficient in JAVA for data processing and injection into Snowflake warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with big data tools/libraries and the MapReduce framework.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithm analysis and design.
• Experience with distributed systems design, development, debugging, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with data warehousing solutions.
• Strong desire to learn new technologies and share knowledge with others.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• A "You build it, you own it!" mindset that emphasizes ownership and accountability.

Nice to Have

• Strong hands-on experience in implementing machine learning models for actionable insights.
• Proven experience in addressing business problems related to reporting and big data analytics.
• Production-grade experience with any or all of the following technologies: Spark, Hive, Airflow, SQL.
• A strong sense of platform feature ownership from ideation to deployment.
