About the role
Job title: Financial Analyst II
Job summary
Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Receivable, in the Accounts Receivable – Quebec team, you will be responsible for monthly reconciliation, analysis and discrepancy correction.
Working for a team of accountants and agents responsible for daily reconciliation, the accountant will work jointly with their team members to improve existing processes. You will also be directly involved in collaborating with, supporting and finding solutions with the various Accounts Receivable operational teams and the various accounting teams. The analyst will have the opportunity to develop technical knowledge and take part in various strategic initiatives in the Accounts Receivable and Finance department.
Main duties
- Ensure balancing of accounts receivable reports with the general ledger for various entities and systems.
- Identify discrepancies and work with Accounts Receivable agents to correct imbalances and/or make corrections to the GL.
- Complete monthly recurring and/or correction entries for the previous month.
- Handle diverse and varied tasks on monthly cycles at the beginning or end of the month.
- Manage the team’s email inbox (questions, miscellaneous requests, debit notices, reports).
- Take part in various team projects (e.g., implementing new accounting or operational systems and process improvements).
- Complete entries regarding transactions in our bank accounts for accounts receivable.
- Monitor inter-company transactions as well as transfers and entries on a monthly basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or technical diploma in administration and over five years of experience (CPA an asset).
- Willingness to take on new challenges.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Independent and a self-starter.
- Strong analytical skills and insight.
- Strong ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to and apply frequent changes.
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills with colleagues.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Strong accounting knowledge
- Understanding of system data flows.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel.
- No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
