At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. What you’ll be doing…

You will be joining Verizon Business Product Organization as a Program and Project Sr Manager on the Product Commercialization Process Readiness Team.  You will lead a portfolio of programs and projects through the Initiation Phase of the Product Commercialization Process (PCP). The Initiation Phase of the process will include partnering and collaborating with the Product Owner(s) and Technology Solutions Partner(s) to develop a product vision and turn it into a well defined plan of intent.  The plan of intent will define a comprehensive list of features and detailed descriptions of the deliverables to achieve the goals of the product. You will act as an adviser to the Product Owner to ensure the program brief(s), roadmap and financials, along with any additional artifacts, required for intake and hand off to the Product Commercialization Process Team are comprehensive and clearly paint the customer benefit and experience picture.

In this role, you will guide the Product Owner and Technology Solutions Partner to clearly define their program, scope and requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the program or project is organized into workable development phases, delivering a viable product to the customer (internal or external) with achievable timelines for continued development. You should be able to work through challenges by independently researching potential solutions, collaborating with others, and iterating to find alternatives. You will enforce your team's process, while thinking outside the box to find alternative solutions while upholding the Verizon Credo and managing diverse personalities and tenure. You will work with all levels of management, including executive leadership, so strong communication skills are required. In addition, you will work to establish strong partnerships with the product organization and our partner organizations.

In this role, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Exercise your understanding of the products, strategy and life cycle in the assigned portfolio, by helping define and document the roadmap, scope and requirements to be executed.

  • Collaborate with the Product Commercialization Process team and identify process, workflow and automation improvements.

  • Communicate and collaborate across portfolio management, product and technology to identify scope and requirement duplication or dependencies to eliminate redundancies and improve each product’s time to market.

  • Partner with technology and business leaders from multiple Verizon teams (across the enterprise) in defining and evolving the priority of each program/project development increment.

  • Promote collaboration of scope, use cases, technical requirements, product design, and functional testing to ensure products and technology partners adhere to aligned scope, project sizing, approved budget and project timelines.

  • Manage working relationships with product and project managers across projects within Verizon with strong lines of communication

  • Serve as governance and advisor for the product tower strategy. Ensures streamlined activities within the organization based on the priorities of the organization.

  • Provide clear, consistent direction, pragmatic problem solving techniques as well as encouragement and constructive criticism.

  • Solve problems by digging into the details to determine root causes, quantifying impact, & pursuing impactful solutions.
