Description

Spatial Front Inc. is looking for a well qualified Operations Manager to support a wonderful team of professionals and our external customer. The Operations Manager responsibilities include (but is not limited to):

Triages, directs, organizes, controls, and manages the application and system-level communications and incidents from all stakeholders and ensures that all service requests are fulfilled in an efficient and timely manner.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage application outages and coordinate incident resolutions across Tiers 1, 2, and 3
  • Manage the Operations Team to assure that customer service expectations are being met
  • Facilitate communications on critical incidents, software releases, and change requests with the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) team as well as numerous application development teams
  • Monitor AWS services for outages and performance issues. Quickly diagnose and resolve operational incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring tools to ensure the health and performance of AWS resources.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement effective solutions and prevent future occurrences.
  • Oversee the release management process, ensuring smooth deployment of applications and updates.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to establish release schedules and manage version control.
  • Implement rollback strategies and ensure thorough testing before production releases.
  • Communicate to Government leadership regarding the status of incidents and overall system health via written reports, virtual meetings, and various digital channels
  • Work closely with development teams familiar with PostgreSQL, Angular, and Node.js to streamline operations and troubleshoot issues.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the status of cloud operations, release management, and optimization efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Preferred 8+ years of IT experience
  • Proven experience in cloud operations, specifically with AWS.
  • Experience in release management processes and tools.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a US Public Trust background check for badging and to access client systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must
  • Strong customer service attitude
  • Adept in interacting with everyone from developers to executives
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work after core business hours for deployments or production outages


Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with IT Service Management tools, e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Experience writing standard operating procedures
  • Effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and prioritization capabilities
  • Ability to work in a flexible and fluid environment
  • Strong desire to learn new things and continually improve yourself, your team, and the applications you support with a positive attitude
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
  • ITIL v 4 certification is a plus/required
  • Experience supporting Federal government customers
