Engineering Manager, Backend Development (Remote - Europe)

As part of our Backend Development team, you’ll lead key services integrating advanced AI models and build scalable solutions using cutting-edge technologies. What You’ll Do:

Lead a talented backend team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous technical growth.
Architect and enhance highly scalable, distributed backend services primarily in Scala and Python, using AWS cloud infrastructure to support Prezi's AI-driven features.
Collaborate with AI and product teams to integrate machine learning models into backend systems, optimizing performance and scalability for millions of users.
Own end to end with your team microservices that handle intensive media processing workloads, leveraging functional programming to ensure efficiency and resilience.
Mentor and guide developers on best practices in distributed systems, functional programming, and cloud architectures.

Who We’re Looking For:

A backend leader with experience in functional programming (kudos for Scala) or statically typed languages (Java, C#), and deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS) and distributed systems.
Proven experience designing and implementing microservices and optimizing backend performance at scale.
Passion for working with AI-driven projects, integrating machine learning models, and solving complex backend challenges.
