Job Description:

GDIT has an opportunity for a WordPress Developer to support the modernization and sustainment of a large portfolio of enterprise business solutions used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The position supports a new program, the NASA Consolidated Applications and Platform Services (NCAPS) which consolidates enterprise-wide applications and platform services across the Agency and supports the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Application Division transformation into the Application and Platform Service (APS) Line with agile based service delivery and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based service management practices.


The WordPress Developer will research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. The Developer will be involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. The Developer will evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system elements. The Developer will document testing and maintenance of system corrections.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites from concept to deployment.

  • Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet project specifications.

  • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and marketers to translate designs into functional and visually appealing websites.

  • Optimize website performance, including speed and scalability.

  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.

  • Perform regular updates, backups, and troubleshooting for existing WordPress sites.

  • Implement responsive design solutions for mobile and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Maintain strong security measures to protect sites from vulnerabilities.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues and bugs as they arise.

  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline.

  • Professional Experience: 6 plus years related technical experience. 

  • Public Trust clearance, and ability to obtain higher level, if needed.

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Developer (3+ years preferred).

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.

  • Strong experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and customization.

  • Experience with responsive and mobile-first design practices.

  • Knowledge of website optimization techniques.

  • Familiarity with version control systems.

  • Experience in preparation of standard operating procedures.

  • Strong organizational skills.

Desired:

  • Prior experience supporting NASA.

  • SAFe and ITIL certifications.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,371 - $141,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
