Brown & Brown is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for our team.

Orchid Underwriters Agency (Orchid), a member of the Brown & Brown National Programs family. 

The Business Systems Analyst supports the technology needs for the organization by serving as a liaison between the business and our IT teams. This role focuses on understanding business processes, gathering requirements, and assisting in the implementation and prioritization of technical requirements and/or solutions to meet business objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Understanding the business processes and the interdependencies of various systems in use.
  • Facilitating interactive discussions with the business unit and technology teams in order to achieve alignment on defining requirements.
  • Assist in eliciting and documenting system requirements, creating workflows and necessary ticket triage to translate business needs into functional specifications.
  • Identifying and communicating risks, issues, and potential solution strategies along with providing status updates to senior leadership and impacted teammates.
  • Participate in discussions to identify system enhancements and prioritize project requirements and prioritize project requirements.
  • Documenting and gaining sign-off on business requirements.
  • Identifying test steps and review test cases with the Quality Assurance team
  • Ability to navigate the IT applications in assisting with testing functionality of the systems
  • Communicating business priorities to IT team.
  • Assisting with the creating of training material and training end users on system enhancements and new programs.
  • Providing reports and data extracts to internal and external business partners.
  • This position requires routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle.  Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are a requirement of this position.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Four plus years of related experience
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft suite, Office365; focus on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with new system implementations, workflows, requirements gathering and software life cycle.
  • Insurance industry experience specifically with Personal Lines Homeowners business.
  • Experience working with offshore resource model.
  • PREFERRED:

  • Insurance industry experience in MGU.
  • Experience with Unquork and Solartis systems
