You will optimize delivery of service to meet business demands and to meet the service operations strategy. In addition, you will plan, measure, report, and communicate service improvement initiatives, consult on issues and resolutions, and recommend steps to optimize investments and benefits and to mitigate risks. In this role, you will also identify suppliers, evaluate them, on-board new vendors, establish and oversee them and support management with regional service contracts, in-country billing and cross charging.

Batch Scheduling Engineer

This is a core team that runs a true global platform across all regions and delivers a business critical service using Automic the batch scheduling tool. The candidate will perform a dual role. On the projects side will assist on major projects to provide Batch Scheduling support. The team will also be responsible for optimissing the environment and ensuring that we continue to innovate the monitoring and dashboard reporting back to the users. In addition the team are expected to drive improvements in the overall schedule and ensuring that designs are streamlined and enhanced.  

Key Responsibilities:

  
1. Batch Scheduling Engineer will own Operational stability of the Automic tool:

  • Attending CAB and CCB as the design authority for Batch technical changes when required.
  •  Share knowledge of the technologies with all relevant stakeholders (business analyst, business, Global Partners, members of other teams)
  •  Effectively manage the relationship with Global Partners, where appropriate
  •  Troubleshooting and implementing solutions to complex problems.
  •  Provide coaching and/or mentoring on complex/unique calls.
  •  Appropriate use of tools and processes to ensure internal compliance procedures are adhered to.

2. Batch Scheduling Engineer will own improving the services offered. This involves:

  •  Drive monitoring and alerting enhances to deliver greater automation and reduce business generated tickets. 
  •  End Users to get better insight into their jobs, get feedback from business user community and implement new dashboards.
  •  Streamline the schedule and look for further simplification and centralisation.
  •  Good links to other teams, notably support.

3. Batch Scheduling Engineer drives aspects of Technical project delivery for Batch. This involves:

  •  Ensure design is alignment with MDLZ standards.
  •  Lead third party teams to deliver the project or assess the adherence to Mdlz ITS standards and processes, and quality of the solution' delivered by Global Partners
  •  Check projects have the correct services and budget to deliver the Batch Services.
  • Work with the wider technical team to make sure the project is coordinated and that the end to end technical solution is delivered. 

   

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of broad Batch Scheduling experience (knowledge of Automic would be useful but not essential)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Systems Architecture
  • Strong Vendor Management Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience and understanding of SAP 
  • Knowledge and understanding of OS especially AIX and LINUX. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud technologies 
  • Experience working in multi- vendor / multi-location / multi-culture / multi-language environments would be an advantage.
